We are so happy to have you join us!
Here are a few things to help you prepare for your first class:
Please arrive 15 minutes before class starts. We recommend wearing sweat wicking fabrics that you are comfortable in. Women tend to wear leggings with a sports bra or tank top. Men typically wear shorts and t-shirts. Drink plenty of water leading up to class. Please bring your own yoga mat, towel and water or we have them available for rent or purchase. Please stay in the room for the entire class, this will help your body adjust to the heat as well as allow you to leave with a calm mind.
What can I take into the room with me?
We ask you to bring only your mat, yoga towel and water into the room. Our instructors begin and end class on time, so go ahead and leave your watch in the lockers too. Give your self the gift of a calm and clear mind by giving yourself a distraction free hour!
Are all classes heated?
Yes! Every class at Pure Hot Yoga is heated to specific temperature that best compliments our own bodies temperature.
What Temperature do you heat the room to?
We keep the room between 95-99 degrees Farenheit and 40% humidity. This allows the heat index in the room to compliment your practice by allowing you to warm up the deeper tissues of the body and reducing your risk of injury.
How old do you have to be to practice yoga?
You must be at least 14 years of age. Parent/legal guardian must sign waver in person at the studio before child can take class.
I’ve never done yoga before, which class should I start with?
At Pure Hot Yoga we cater to all levels of individuals! Our instructors offer modifications through out every class. Our Pure Flow class is an excellent class if you are just beginning your practice as it familiarizes you with the most common yoga postures.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t practice yoga?
Yoga is a lower impact workout. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or high blood pressure you should consult with your doctor before taking class. As with starting any new physical activity we encourage everyone to consult with their doctor first.
When should I eat if Im taking a class?
Most people do well if they don’t eat 2 hours prior to taking class. Others find it beneficial to eat a banana or something light, 30-60 minutes before class.
What is the best way to rehydrate?
Water! Water! Water! They say hydration starts the day before, so make sure you are drinking plenty of water. It is also good to add in some electrolytes as well. Electrolytes that we use are Emergen-C packets and Nuum tablets, both are available at local grocery stores.
How many classes do you recommend a week?
A successful yoga practice takes time, commitment and discipline. To experience the true benefits of a yoga practice we recommend practicing 4-6 times a week. A practice of 2-3 times a week if consistent will create transformation over time. Develop the habit of a dedicated yoga practice and you will see results!
What if I am not flexible?
Flexibility is a side effect of yoga. Yoga lengthens and expands muscles while helping you release toxins that have built up in your body over time. Becoming flexible is great benefit of yoga but the best benefit of yoga is learning to live a more happy, healthy and authentic life.
I arrived a few minutes late to class and the door was locked?
We lock our doors during class for the safety of our students and their belongings. We promptly begin and end class on time. We recommend getting to the studio 5-15 minutes before class starts, so you can get ready and relax in the heat before class.
What is the New Student Introductory Offer?
This is our new student special. Anyone new to the studio qualifies for 1 week of unlimited yoga for $29 or 4 classes in 2 weeks for $29. Depending on which one you choose you can come to any class, any time. At the end of your intro offer, you get 30% OFF your first package purchase!
How Do I sign up for classes?
You can sign up here. If you are wanting to sign multiple people up for a class, please create a user name for each individual! If you are wanting to do our 2 week special, come up to the studio and we will gladly help you sign up!
What are your hours?
We are open 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after every class.
Do you have showers and dressing rooms?
We have separate men and women’s dressing rooms, 2 mens tile showers and 2 women’s tile showers and bathrooms.
If I’m new, where is the best place for my mat?
The back of the room near the door, close to a wall or a corner is the best place for you so that you can use other students as guide. Let the instructor know that it’s your first time. They will happily show you around, and help you get settled. If you have any questions, our instructors love answering questions about yoga or alignment. Ask them anything, they will be happy to help.
